The unincorporated community of Vickery, OH, is located in western Townsend Township of Sandusky County. Vickery sits just north of the Ohio Turnpike (I-80) and State Route 6, along North County Road 268.
Vickery was first laid out in 1881 by Robert Vickery, and the new community was named for him. A local post office has been in operation since that time. Today, Vickery remains surrounded by farmland in a rural setting, with Strong Creek running close to the center of town. Pickerel Creek Wildlife Area is due north of Vickery, offering outdoor recreation along Sandusky Bay. Back in town, locals and visitors alike can enjoy Schenk’s Vickery Tavern for happy hour and bar games. The community is also proud to maintain a volunteer fire department.
